Weekly Work

This is the schedule of topics and assignments we will cover this semester.  Read the Weekly Announcement, then do everything listed for the week. (if you’re not sure, you can check the calendar to see what week it is, or click here to add the calendar to your phone).

  • November 4 is the last day to get a book approved for the book review or a project proposal approved for the Design Your Own Assignment project.

  • Actively participate in our Tuesday class 1:15-2:45pm

  • Read Before our class: Bonzelos et al, Chapter 8
  • Attend and actively participate in “What Just Happened?” in V-219 (this is in place of our regular Tuesday class from 1:15-2:45pm, so attendance is mandatory. And you can earn 5 points!).

  • Write your Week 11 blog post.
  • Look at the points you have earned so far in the class, then choose an assignment so you can earn some. You can’t pass if you just take the final exam (even if you score perfectly on it, it’s only 15 points, and you need 73 for a C).
  • There’s no Tuesday class this week, because Tuesday is Friday. So use this week to catch up on reading and blogging, and try to knock out any big assignments you still have left.
  • Complete the 10 Minute Class
  • Complete the Mini-Field Work in NYC
  • Check your total points, and make a plan to finish strong!
  • Read Before our class: Bonzelos et al, Chapter 12
  • Post your Final Slide and present it our final Tuesday class
  • Actively participate in our Tuesday class 1:15-2:45pm
  • Check out this week’s slides.
  • Write your Week 13 blog post.
  • Finish any outstanding assignments.
  • Take the Final Exam from 12:01am December 11 to 11:59pm December 13 (if you’re taking it)
  • Submit all outstanding work (enough work to get to at least 73 points) on our class blog by the end of December 13. Make sure you pay attention to the requirements for each assignment, and submit the self-grading reflection with each assignment.  Make sure that any google doc links are publicly viewable!
  • Write final self-grading assessment blog post, reflecting on your work for the semester, assessing and grading your second half of blogging, totalling up the points you have earned for all assignments, and assigning yourself the letter grade that goes with your points
  • If you need more time than December 13, email Dr. Brandle and request an INC grade, so you can have extra time to do your best learning.  INCs that you don’t complete can mess up your transcript, GPA, and financial aid, so if you need one, make sure you finish it up in January!
