Hello, everyone, this week I will talk about the Classification of Government my countries are AUSTRALIA and AFGHANISTAN so I will go specific with my topic.

Australia:

• Australia is a parliamentary democracy. This means that people can vote in elections to choose their leaders. The government is run by a Prime Minister and a parliament, which makes laws.
• In 2022, Australia was rated 98 out of 100 for freedom by freedom house. This shows that people have many rights, like the right to vote and speak freely​ ​(UNDP Human Development Reports).

Afghanistan:

• Afghanistan, especially since the Taliban took control in 2021, does not have a democratic system. The Taliban does not hold elections and has strict rules that limit people’s freedoms.
• In 2022, Afghanistan was rated only 5 out of 100 by Freedom House. This shows that the people have very few rights, and the government does not allow free speech or other important freedoms​.(UNDP Human Development Reports).

Similarities and Differences

While Australia and Afghanistan are different, they both have histories that have influenced their governments. Both countries have indigenous peoples who have faced challenges.

• Australia has a strong democracy. People can vote, and there are many political parties. This helps keep the country stable and allows people to express their opinions.
• Afghanistan, on the other hand, struggles with political issues. The Taliban’s rule has caused many problems, including restrictions on women’s rights and freedom of education. This makes life very difficult for many people​(UNDP Human Development Reports).

Australia is a stable democracy, while Afghanistan is a non-democratic country under the Taliban. Understanding these differences is important to see how each government affects the lives of its people.
